The magical world of proteins.

I don't know about you, but a class called “The magical world of proteins” would make biochemistry seem much more exciting and approachable. Reading that title would fill me with anticipation and peak my imagination about what was coming next.

I have good news for you and me: we get to go on a journey together. And like most journeys, there are a lot of things we get to learn and discover. Most likely there are even some things we never even imagined we would see, or obstacles we would have to overcome along the way. And while we cannot control all the things going on our lives, we get to choose the attitude we are going to have about this journey. We get to choose to ask for help if we get stuck and we can even lend a hand to someone who might be struggling. We get to choose to see mistakes as a way we grow and learn more deeply rather than feeling inadequate. We get to choose to listen to different perspectives and consider thoughts we never had ourselves. We even get to choose to let others teach us along the way. Ultimately, we get to choose to be kind to and respectful of and gracious toward ourselves and others so we can have a safe space to learn and grow together.
